Angiulo (Genaro) is born in Boston.

The son of Italian immigrants Cesare and Giovannina Angiulo, Gennaro Angiulo grows up at 95 Prince Street, graduates from English High School, and serves in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. With four of his brothers (Antonio, Michele, Nicolo, and Donato and Francesco), he becomes a bookie working for Boston organized crime boss Joseph Lombardo, then succeeds him and becomes “underboss” of the New England Mafia. Angiulo, who specializes in bookmaking and loansharking, maintains an office at 51 North Margin Street He is convicted of racketeering in 1986, serves more than 20 years in prison, and dies in Nahant on August 29, 2009.
